The name suggests that this distillery might be by the sea. It is not: the distillery was built by a local farmer close to an ancient entrance to the City of Brechin and it was originally called 'Brechin Distillery'. It was acquired by DCL in 1922, closed in 1983 and later demolished. Always uncommon as a single, it is now extremely rare.
