This malt was made on Lomond stills at Miltonduff Distillery, near Pluscarden Abbey, south of Elgin. Both malts were key fillings for the Ballantine blends, and Miltonduff itself remains the principal malt for these brands. It was the third of Hiram Walkers distilleries to install Lomond stills, which made it possible to vary the style of malt produced by a single distillery.
