Glenugie

First Society bottling in 1992.

Located just south of Peterhead, close to the sea, this was the most easterly of the distilleries in Scotland. It was rebuilt with unusual cast-iron frames in 1873, but its buildings have now been converted to other uses. After several changes of ownership pre-World War I, it was bought by Long John Distillers in 1956, joined Whitbread with them in 1975 and was promptly sold to a consortium of oil men the same year. It never resumed production.
