First Society bottling in 1993.
Although this was originally named "Strathspey Distillery", it is buried deep in the wilds of Badenoch - the highest distillery in Scotland -so its current name, which means the "Meeting Place for Pleasure" in Gaelic, may refer to hunting expeditions. It was built by local businessmen from Kingussie, sold for ??1,500 in 1905 to an American company, and ultimately to DCL. Since 1988, the malt has been promoted as a "Classic" by its owners.
