Convalmore

First Society bottling in 1990.

The distillery was closed in 1985 and dismantled, but continues to exist, physically, since its shell was bought by William Grant & Sons (Glenfiddich) for warehousing. In 1909, it had been destroyed by fire, and after being re-built was used for experiments in continuous distillation. Refurbished and expanded in 1964, it was a casualty of the contraction of the mid-1980s.
